Where Women Create, featuring inspiring women.

Where Women Create is The magazine for creatives and is sold in bookstores and newsstands worldwide, and is a sister publication to its parent company, Stampington Company, that has dozens of brands featuring inspiring business creatives. We were hired to photograph Dana Lynch and tell her story of life challenges, inspiration, art and quilting crafts. Dana’s recently been diagnosed with cancer, so her story is heartwarming and inspiring. This average rural town woman was recognized for her incredible talent, award winning crafts, and her network of fellow craftswomen worldwide.  I’ve been shooting for Where Women Cook, and now had the opportunity to shoot once again for the magazine. My professional approach & style to editorial shoots keeps my calendar full, as I get calls from editors and producers from around the world.

When I arrived at Dana’s studio for the shoot, her team had the makeup artist and hairstylist on set, the catering crew had set up food, and her husband was on set to assist with Dana’s presentation. Dana had just expanded her studio to over 500 sq feet, she offers a variety of art, from high end quilting, to beading, sketching, painting, and more. Her studio is set up to handle large capacity production runs of fabrics up to 10 feet wide, utilizing the latest in high tech machinery and computers. The bulk of her work is hand crafted, hand sewn, and truly hand made. Any artist that walks into her studio is impressed by her organization, supplies, and her impression of colors.

Dana’s work has received awards from around the world, some of the most prestigious awards and recognition in her industry. She keeps a hand full of her merits on a small wall near her desk, a humble showing of her talents.

My task is to tell her story with my photos. Professional photography is an art that few truly master, I’ve spent years honing my craft. When editors seek out photographers, they are looking for both talent, creativity, and professional work ethic. It was an honor to be selected to tell this womans inspiring story.
