Comedian Michael Jr’s Movie is Premiering Nationwide!

Set to premier in late 2018 & early 2019

Michael Allen photographed the Movie Stills for the marketing campaign. The movie was filmed in the Hope Arena with a packed house for the evening filming. Working behind the scenes shooting stills for movies is one of the many photography projects that I get to do while everyone else works behind a desk somewhere. I teamed up with fellow photographer Craig Thompson to capture photos for the film and marketing campaign. The movie premiered in theaters nationwide in October 2018, then it will go into rotation on comedy channels for cable and web stream providers. Here are a few of the photos from the show.

 

I’ve shot many concerts, music videos, movies and love my work as a still photographer. Todays cameras work so well in these low light settings, and I love the challenge of photographing projects like these. Typically I shoot on Canon 5d series cameras with several lenses from telephoto to wide angle, to prime and zooms. My goal is to capture the entire room and closeups of the talent. In this case they were filming in front of a live audience, so I had to work around the video cameras and sneak in to get closeups without distracting the audience.
