Where Women Cook Magazine-

Here’s our feature photography commission shoot for “Where Women Cook Magazine” featuring world champion celebrity chef Melissa Cookston and her world renown food. We get calls from magazines and ad agencies all over the world when they need a professional photographer with an award winning style. We craft each photo shoot with special attention to lighting and styling detail. For this shoot we wanted to capture a lifestyle look that would be warm and inviting to the readers. With shooting on location, there are always challenges, shooting in mixed light can be difficult, so we tend to color correct the room lights and fill to make the ambient room light look natural, then we kick in some key light to fill in the shadows. For food shots like these, finding just the right backgrounds help support the look of the food. This was a triple shoot for Michael, shooting portraits of Melissa, behind the scenes of Melissa in her kitchen, and styled food photos of her world champion BBQ.
